HAZET – Das Werkzeug logo

From the first staff photograph to pioneering work

First milestones

Ernst Zerver, the eldest son, starts as an apprentice in the smithy at the age of 14.
In 1890, the 4 HP steam engine is replaced by a larger 12 HP one and the first specially designed drop forge with drop hammer is built. Ernst Zerver starts working in field service and travels to customers with a sample case weighing approx. 18 kg.

In 1893, an office and dispatch building is built as the previous premises become too small. One year later, HAZET is one of the first companies in Germany to start manufacturing "lightning pliers". The lightning pliers legs can still be found today in abstract form on the current HAZET logo on the right and left side.
