Joint types

Is it called hinge or joint? We prefer "hinge", as this term is generally understandable.
In "Bergisch" - the home of the Das Werkzeug - the term "joint" is often used.

Applied hinge

Here, both halves of the pliers lie on top of each other without any special finishing.

Inlaid hinge

Here, each leg of the pliers is machined up to halfway in the respective joint area in such a way that both legs of the pliers optionally fit into each other

Push-through hinge

Here, one half of the pliers leg is slotted so that the other half can be pushed through with fitting accuracy. Advantage: Due to the bearing of the hinge pin on both sides and the double guidance of the inner legs of the pliers, this hinge connection can withstand high loads.
