HAZET – Das Werkzeug logo

Fourth generation takes over and years of innovation follow

Ahead of its time

The first precision torque wrench from HAZET with an accuracy of +-2% deviation from the scale value is launched on the market. It was thus possible to fix the set value with the aid of a locking mechanism (cylinder lock) for the first time. The torque wrench – with built-in angle gauge and without reference arm – was a total newcomer to the market too. Experts from the automotive industry were already saying at the time: "... you're 25 too early!"‒ this turned out to be true.

This also applied to the development of an electronic screwdriving tool for angle-controlled screw tightening on the HAZET 6000 CT torque wrench system, which was ahead of its time at the time.

A few years later, HAZET introduced another world first to the market: The first ratchet box under the HAZET product name "854" in a plastic box (previously almost always sheet metal) with precisely fitting tools inside in a replaceable polyurethane foam insert (previously the tools were housed in so-called "chocolates packaging"). Nowadays, plastic and soft foam inserts are standard worldwide – a good 25 years ago, this was an innovation. The "854" box is a 30-piece, 6.3-mm = 14" tool set, which to this day remains one of our "best sellers".

First prize goes to... HAZET

In 1975, the invention of the first screwdriver with a hand-optimised offset triangular handle was patented under the HAZET product name "trinamic". For this invention, Hermann J. Zerver received the German national “Gute Form” (good form) award from the then Minister for Economic Affairs, Hans Friderichs.

Modern storage equipment

1983 saw the fourth construction phase of the Heinsberg branch: the construction of an 83 metre long and 43 metre wide warehouse and dispatch area in Heinsberg of 3,700 square metres and the relocation of the warehouse and dispatch area from Remscheid to Heinsberg.

End of an era and expansion of the product range

Hans Zerver dies in 1987 at the age of 79. The product range comprises around 3,600 articles. HAZET places the first serially-produced tool trolley with drawers on the market.
